COGS 1: Introduction to Cognitive Science

What is the mind, and how can we study it scientifically? This course is the foundational component of the Cognitive Science degree at UC Merced. The Program Learning Outcomes for the Cognitive Science degree include a basic understanding of neuroscience, computer science, psychology, philosophy, and linguistics, as well as familiarity with technical skills such as computer programming, neural network design, statistics, formal logic, experimental design, and laboratory skills.
