The 10th University of California campus opened in 2005, and offers a BA and BS in Cognitive Science. For Fall 2009, we will be seeking applicants for a stand-alone PhD program in Cognitive Science. We welcome applications from students interested in conducting pioneering, cutting edge cognitive science research at the first American research university in the 21st century.

In 2009 UC Merced will host a conference on the "Future of Cognitive Science," funded by the National Science Foundation. We will invite prominent cognitive scientists from around the world to discuss the future of the discipline. The conference will roughly mark the 50 year anniversary of the discipline.
