CIS Brain Study Reveals Mechanism that Controls Sympathy

Profs. Colin Holbrook and Ramesh Balsubramaniam, in collaboration with recent CIS alum Dr. Chelsea Gordon, current CIS PhD student Shannon Proksch, recent CIS graduate Harmony Makhfi, and UCLA neuroscientist Prof. Marco Iacoboni, have published a paper in Social Neuroscience on their research into the brain mechanisms that help control feelings of sympathy triggered when hearing of the suffering of strangers.
